Breakfast Casserole

Breakfast Casserole – Judy Davis (Samantha Rasmussen’s Grandmother)

4 slices bread, your choice
1 pound sausage
1 cup medium cheddar cheese, grated
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard (optional)
1 teaspoon salt
dash of pepper

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Tear or cut bread into pieces and place in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Brown and drain meat, spoon over bread. Sprinkle grated cheese over all. Beat eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper together and pour over bread and meat. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. (Can be prepared the night before and refrigerated. Bring to a reasonable room temperature before baking.)
